Two Oklahoma golfers advance in Women's Championship

Oklahoma golfers Chirapat Jao-Javanil and Anne-Catherine Tanguay won their first-round matches Wednesday and will advance to the round of 32 at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship.

Jao-Javanil is ranked No. 12 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. She was one-down heading to the 15th hole before winning the next two and won the match 1-up.

Tanguay never trailed and won her match 2-and-1.

OU's Taylor Schmidt lost on the 19th hole and failed to advance.

Jao-Javanil will face Robynn Ree of Redondo Beach, Calif., Thursday morning. Tanguay will take on Chaewon Park of San Pedro Calif., Thursday morning.
