Two former Lions appear on this year's 'The Biggest Loser'

Former Lions QB Scott Mitchell
Two former Detroit Lions players -- quarterback Scott Mitchell and offensive lineman Damien Woody -- are two of the contestants this year on NBC's reality weight-loss television program "The Biggest Loser."
Mitchell, 46, is now listed at 366 pounds, nearly 130 more than his playing weight. He played for the Lions from 1994-98, and last appeared in the NFL in 2001.
His bio on the program's website said that Mitchell's motivation for appearing on the show "was seeing his dad die of obesity-related causes early this year and knowing he could be headed down the same path if he doesn't change his life."
Mitchell, now living in Mapleton, Utah, as a bill collector, suffers from sleep apnea and high blood pressure.
Woody, meanwhile, is listed at 388 pounds, nearly 70 more than his playing weight. He was with Detroit from 2004-07 and finished his football career in 2010.
Woody, 36, an analyst for ESPN, now lives in Mendham, N.J. His bio said he "doesn't want to be another statistic and former NFL player gone too soon due to weight-related issues."
The season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" is scheduled for September 11.
