MINNEAPOLIS -- As Derek Jeter continues his farewell tour throughout the season, opposing teams continue to present the longtime Yankees shortstop with gifts.
On Saturday, it was the Twins' turn.
In a pregame ceremony before Saturday's game at Target Field, Minnesota presented Jeter with an autographed base. It wasn't just any base, though. It was the last second base ever used at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, the Twins' home before Target Field.
In that game on Oct. 11, 2009, Jeter and the Yankees eliminated the Twins in Game 3 of the 2009 of the American League Division Series by winning 4-1. Jeter went 1-for-4 in that game as New York advanced.
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said a few words about Jeter before Saturday's game, and Minnesota second baseman Brian Dozier -- who idolized Jeter as a kid -- presented Jeter with the second base in its display case. Twins coach and Hall of Famer Paul Molitor, who like Jeter is a member of the 3,000-hit club, gave Jeter a check for $10,000 for his foundation.

"I asked Mr. (Joe) Girardi over there today," Gardenhire told Jeter. "I said we're honoring you, to take you out of the lineup for two more days and we'll be fine here in Minnesota."
Jeter had plenty of success against Minnesota over his career. In his 129 games against the Twins before Saturday's contest, Jeter batted .321 with 59 RBI and 13 home runs. He had plenty of hits at the Metrodome, too, hitting .301 with 14 doubles and 18 RBI in 52 career games there.
Now he'll have a piece of that stadium to remember the Twins -- and his success against them -- after he retires at the end of this season.
