Twins bring up Albers as 26th man for Game 2 of doubleheader

Published Aug. 11, 2016 12:14 a.m. ET

After rain forced the postponement of Wednesday night's game against the Houston Astros, the Minnesota Twins announced that they plan to select the contract of lef-handed pitcher Andrew Albers from Triple-A Rochester to serve as the 26th man in Game 2 of Thursday's split doubleheader.

Albers went 2-5 with a 4.05 ERA in 10 starts with the Twins in 2013, including pitching a complete game. He is 9-5 with a 3.51 ERA in 19 starts for Rochester this season.
