TUF Talk: Jessica Penne disappointed in Lisa Ellis' excuses
Following a dominant win over Lisa Ellis for the third fight on The Ultimate Fighter, Team Pettis' Jessica Penne joins TUF Talk about her start in the competition and living in the house to this point in the show.
Penne was one of the real veterans fighting on The Ultimate Fighter this season, but she also had real familiarity with the person she took on in the first round of the competition. Penne defeated Ellis in 2012 by TKO in Invicta Fights, but leading up to their rematch what started out as a friendly competition turned into a serious rivalry.
During the first fight, Ellis had her nose shattered and it turned her bout with Penne into one of the bloodiest bouts in women's MMA history. Now almost two years after the fact, Ellis stated on the show that she credits the broken nose to a clash of heads and not the knee strike Penne landed.
Penne was not amused hearing this news.
"I saw that Lisa said that it was head butt and my knee that broke her nose and that just made me kind of flip out a little bit," Penne said. Like are you kidding me? I was a little surprised by that and a little disappointed in her actually that she was going around saying that.
"It was clearly a knee and she's saying I head butted her."
