Trickett to start for West Virginia against Baylor

Clint Trickett will make his second career start for West Virginia against Baylor on Saturday, coach Dana Holgorsen announced on his weekly radio show.

Trickett suffered a shoulder and leg injury during last week's 30-21 win over Oklahoma State, but continued playing.

"He was pretty dramatic about that, wasn't he?" Holgorsen joked.

Trickett is a Morgantown native, and his father was an offensive line coach for the Mountaineers under Rich Rodriguez. The Mountaineers' win as a 21-point underdog was the biggest upset of the season for any team in the Big 12, and Oklahoma State was the preseason pick to win the Big 12.

Holgorsen said earlier this week Trickett would start if all three quarterbacks were healthy, and indicated that Paul Millard and Ford Childress (pectoral) were healthy enough to play if necessary.

Trickett completed 24-of-50 passes for 309 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.

Millard started the first two games of the season, but was benched for Childress after a 16-7 loss to Oklahoma. Childress suffered a pectoral injury in a 37-0 loss to Maryland and wasn't healthy enough to play against Oklahoma State.
