Former USC defensive backs Mark Carrier and Dennis Thurman and end Hal Bedsole, and former UCLA offensive lineman Jonathan Ogden are among 76 players and eight coaches on the 2012 ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame.

Carrier starred at safety from 1987-89 and won the 1989 Thorpe Award, which has been presented annually to the nation's top defensive back since 1986.

Thurman played in 1974-77 and was a two-time All-American.

Ogden played in 1992-95, winning the 1995 Outland Trophy as the nation's outstanding lineman.

The Hall of Fame class will be announced May 15 and enshrined in December.
