One: The first sixty seconds made one pause and wonder if more of the same was in store, as Columbus couldn't get the puck past center ice. The Blue Jackets settled down, with the Hartnell/Johansen/Foligno line generating some quality chances. In the first period they dominated in the faceoff circle winning 76 percent and all four centers above 57 percent.

Two: There is still a tendency for the players to pass instead of taking the shot. At times, they need to learn to be a bit more selfish with the puck. Their passing is still not where it needs to be, although they are getting better.

Three: For the most part, they played one of their more complete games for almost 40 minutes. They were getting in on the forecheck, winning in the faceoff circle and keeping pace with one of the best teams in the Western Conference. The implosion came in the third period and in the words of a former coach, the Canucks just kept piling on. Unfortunately, there was no pushback from the Blue Jackets.
