Three St. John Bosco players commit to Pac-12 schools
Washington was never far from Sean McGrew's thoughts. Growing up he was a big fan of the Huskies. In his bedroom was a poster of Husky Stadium.
With that as a backdrop, Wednesday's announcement shouldn't come as a surprise.
In front of family, St. John Bosco students, and faculty, McGrew committed to the University of Washington.
It was widely believed McGrew, one of the top running backs in the class of 2016, would head to Westwood and rejoin former teammate Josh Rosen at UCLA. However, that wasn't to be.
"Everyone tells me that you just got to go with your heart in this kind of decision and every time I thought about UCLA I still had questions in my mind that weren't answered, McGrew said. "I didn't really feel like they really wanted me that bad as (Washington head) Coach (Chris) Petersen wanted me at Washington. At the end of the day Coach Pete was there for me. I just got that home feeling at Washington."
In addition to his college announcement, McGrew was also given an invitation to the 2016 Army All-American Game.
The talented tailback was one of three St. John Bosco players to announce their commitment on Wednesday.

Cornerback Traveon Beck committed to Cal and safety D.J. Morgan committed to Arizona State.
Just last week Beck declared via Twitter that his recruitment was still wide open.
Cal called with an offer over the weekend.
"That changed everything," Beck said.
Cal, he says, is his dream school.
His reaction told that story. A video circulated on Twitter of Beck after he received the offer from the Golden Bears. He ran through the parking lot jumping up and down in excitement.

"I always wanted that offer," Beck said. "It's the top public university in the world. You can't really pass up an opportunity like that."
For Morgan, Arizona State is a good fit because it's close enough for his family to come see him play, especially his mom, who doesn't fly. The five-hour drive would be manageable for her, he says.
It was also a numbers game. With six defensive backs leaving after the 2015 season, Morgan says, it will provide him the opportunity to play early.
"That was something I realized on my own and also (Arizona State VO-defensive coordinator) Coach (Chris) Ball told me," Morgan said. "I'm really excited about that."
