One sign of how hot the Thrashers are came on Monday when the NHL recognized goalie Ondrej Pavelec as the league's first star of the week and defenseman Dustin Byfuglien as its second.
Pavelec stopped 97 of 99 shots in three games during the week and now ranks third in the NHL in both goals-against average (1.62) and save percentage (.949).
Byfuglien had two goals and four assists in three games and currently leads all NHL defensemen in scoring with 25 points. He also tops NHL defensemen in goals with nine.
