Texas Tech football players to participate in dunk contest
Texas Tech is taking the halftime show to a whole new level.
On Tuesday night against Kansas, the football team will host a halftime dunk contest. Here's betting it will be better received than the NBA version on Saturday night, which crowned a team champion and had fans vote on the night's best dunker.
Coach Kliff Kingsbury and his team will be honored for the Holiday Bowl win, but they won't simply stand in a line at halfcourt while a public address announcer reads off their accomplishments.
We'll see what the Red Raiders have to offer above the rim, but one thing is for sure: Tech fans won't be leaving their seats for halftime this week.
There's no word yet on which Tech players will participate in the dunk contest.
"Working out those details now," a Texas Tech official told Fox Sports Southwest.
