It was a mistake and we all make them but it remains a mystery how Texas-based newspaper The Huntsville Item fumbled the score of the Dallas Cowboys' huge 30-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

A representative for the paper told Jim Romenesko: "It appears to have been a lapse in communication or some other sort of human error between our news desk and sports desk. The correct score and victory appear on the sports page. We're still looking into the exact cause."
I believe the exact cause is that very few people including someone on the paper's staff believed the Cowboys would topple the defending Super Bowl champs in their own house.
