Texas offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle has been dismissed from the program for violating team rules, Longhorns coach Charlie Strong announced on Tuesday.

The junior is the ninth Texas player to be dismissed since Strong took over the program in January.

Estelle, along with fellow offensive tackle Desmond Harrison and receiver Daje Johnson, had been serving an indefinite suspension and hadn't played yet this season. Both Harrison and Estelle were projected as likely starters along the offensive line.

Estelle, the Pearland, Texas native, started eight games at right tackle a year ago and came to Texas as a four-star recruit.

The Longhorns offensive line is already without center Dom Espinosa, who suffered a broken ankle in the season opener against North Texas. Defensive tackle Desmond Jackson underwent foot surgery this week after suffering an injury in Texas' loss to UCLA and will miss the season. Quarterback David Ash retired from football earlier this month because of repeated head injuries.

Texas (1-2), travels to face Kansas on Saturday.
