Texas A&M to host Arkansas next season
The Texas A&M-Arkansas football series is taking at least a two-year sabbatical from Cowboys Stadium, according to a report on aggiesports.com.
Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne said Saturday that Arkansas would play A&M at Kyle Field on Sept. 29. The teams have played the last three seasons at Cowboys Stadium, with Arkansas winning all three games, as part of a 10-year contract.
The game is now listed as being played at College Station on A&M's official website.
The 2013 game will be played at Arkansas and presumably will return to Cowboys Stadium in 2014. The series is now a conference contest with A&M's entry into the SEC this season.
The last time Arkansas played in College Station was in 1991 when both schools were members of the Southwest Conference.
Texas A&M will still make a Dallas-Fort Worth appearance in 2012. The Aggies will play SMU at Ford Field on Sept. 15.
However, the move leaves Arkansas without a DFW presence for the time being.
