FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Chris Washburn made a long jumper with 1:12 left and TCU survived four missed free throws after that to beat Texas 58-57 Saturday night, the Horned Frogs' first victory in the series since 1995.

Washburn's feet were straddling the 3-point line when he made the final basket of the game, giving TCU (9-6, 1-2 Big 12) its first lead since the opening minute of the second half.

Brandon Parrish led TCU with 15 points on five 3-pointers, but he missed the free throws down the stretch. He missed two with 43 seconds left after being fouled on a rebound, then fouled again after Texas missed another shot with 19 seconds left. But he missed two more, giving the Longhorns (9-6, 1-2) a final chance to beat TCU for the 12th straight time.

After a timeout with 10 seconds left, Isaiah Taylor missed a shot and Connor Lammert couldn't convert a follow-up shot after his 11th rebound.

Washburn, who had 14 points, grabbed the rebound and slung the ball to the other end of the court as time ran out.

Javan Felix had 16 points to lead Texas, and Taylor scored 13.

Texas had won 15 of the previous 16 games in the series, including all seven as Big 12 opponents since 2013. TCU's last win in the series had been 102-98 at home on Jan. 10, 1995 -- 21 years ago Sunday -- when they were in the Southwest Conference together.

The Longhorns opened the second half with a 10-2 run, and were up 42-36 when Taylor had a steal and fed Felix for a layup. It was the second basket in the spurt in which Prince Ibeh had two dunks.

That was the largest lead by either team in the second half.

TCU was ahead 26-16 midway through the first half after scoring 12 consecutive points in a span of 2 1/2 minutes when Parrish had two 3-pointers.

The second 3 for Parrish was on a fastbreak after Karviar Shepherd blocked a shot by Taylor that was rebounded by Washburn. Parrish hit from the right wing in front of the Texas bench, and coach Shaka Smart quickly called timeout instead of waiting for the upcoming media stoppage.

The Longhorns trailed 34-32 at halftime, missing a chance for a tying basket after a turnover by Taylor.
