The Tampa Bay Rays have suspended prospect Josh Sale for conduct detrimental to the organization, the team announced Wednesday.
Sale, an outfield prospect taken 17th overall in the 2010 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, had just completed a 50-game suspension after testing positive for methamphetamine and an amphetamine.
Wednesday's decision by the team, according to the Tampa Bay Times, came after Sale posted an offensive Facebook status update on Monday, which subsequently became public. He has since deleted the post.
During his two seasons within the Rays franchise, Sale has a .238 batting average with 14 home runs and 59 RBI in 134 games.
