ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Tale of Papa Nick finished second in the $58,000 feature Friday at Santa Anita, but was declared the winner by disqualification after Gouyen was taken down for a bumping incident at the top of the stretch.

Ridden by Felipe Valdez, Tale of Papa Nick returned $14.40, $7.20 and $4.80 at 6-1 odds in a field of eight fillies and mares.

Sidepocket Run was moved up to second after the DQ and paid $6.20 and $4.

Gouyen ran 6 1/2 furlongs on the downhill turf course in 1:14.60. She drifted outward under Santiago Gonzalez and bumped Desert Steel. As a result, she was DQ'd and placed fifth by the stewards.

''Once in a while, you get lucky,'' owner Nick Cafarchia said.

The victory, worth $34,800, increased Tale of Papa Nick's career earnings to $83,348, with two wins in five starts.
