Takanashi wins women's World Cup ski jumping event

ZAO, Japan (AP) Japanese teenager Sara Takanashi won her fourth straight women's World Cup ski jumping event on Friday.

The 19-year-old Takanashi had a jump of 106 meters to score 143.4 points before the second round of jumps was canceled due to strong winds.

Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, the Sochi Olympic silver medalist and last season's overall World Cup champion, was second with 127.2 points after a 94.5-meter jump.

Maja Vtic of Slovenia jumped 96 meters for third with 125.3 points.

Takanashi leads the overall World Cup standings with 580 points, 181 ahead of Iraschko-Stolz.

The next event is on Saturday at the same venue in central Japan.
