Cleveland Indians first baseman Nick Swisher and Chicago White Sox reliever David Robertson won't just be battling on the diamond this upcoming season.

The former teammates with the New York Yankees have significantly different vested interests when it comes to the first ever College Football Playoff.

Robertson grew up in Alabama and pitched for the Crimson Tide in college. Swisher played ball at Ohio State before being drafted by the Oakland Athletics.

Together for four seasons in the Bronx, Swisher and Robertson obviously formed a bond that has endured, as evidenced by their friendly wager on the Sugar Bowl between Alabama and Ohio State.

It seems a friend of Swisher's and Alabama fan, Kate Gordon, helped facilitate the bet, which entails the loser wearing the shirt of the winner's team.

Swisher and Robertson could be facing off a lot more in 2015, as Robertson signed a four-year deal with the White Sox and Swisher remains with the Indians despite trade rumors.
