Baffert, Garcia and owner Kaleem Shah teamed to win another race, with Bernster setting a track record, too.

He ran six furlongs in 1:08.18, bettering the old mark of 1:08.40 set by Seeking the Sherif in the Katella Stakes on Sept. 20. Bernster won by 1 1/4 lengths for the first time in his career as the 2-1 favorite in his first race after being off for nearly 36 months.

Garcia was one of three riders to win two races, along with Rafael Bejarano and Tyler Baze.
