Suspended Cowboy Josh Brent to begin working with team again
Arlington, Texas -- Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed Sunday that suspended defensive lineman Josh Brent can begin working at the team's practice facility Monday.
Brent had his suspension from the NFL, announced in September, modified after negotiations with the league office. Brent is still suspended for 10 games for his conviction for intoxication manslaughter in the death of teammate Jerry Brown Jr.
The modification allows Brent to begin working with the team two weeks earlier than the original terms of his suspension.
"Josh Brent will be at the facility tomorrow," Jones told reporters after Sunday's 38-17 win over the Saints. "He won't practice, but he will be at the facility to continue everything besides practicing with the team."

If Brent meets the conditions of his suspension, the first game he is eligible to play in is Nov. 23 at the New York Giants.
"Josh has a wish to have some success financially to help take responsibility for Jerry Brown's daughter," Jones said. "He has told me that every time I have talked with him on the phone, within the last six or seven times we have talked. Tomorrow it will start."
Brent officially retired from football before last season to focus on his legal issues. Jones, with the blessing of Brown's mother, has consistently said Brent would be welcomed back to the team.
"He has been working and we will continue that work," Jones said. "He should get in here and if he gets the work done and gets his weight right through conditioning, he may find himself a chance to get on the field."
