Sun Devils get No. 2 seed in regional hosted by Cal Poly
The Arizona State baseball team has been selected as the No. 2 seed in the San Luis Obispo Regional hosted by Cal Poly. ASU will face No. 3 seed Pepperdine (39-16) at 1 p.m. on Friday.
Cal Poly (45-10) will play Sacramento State (39-22) in the regional's other game on Friday at Baggett Stadium on the Cal Poly campus. The four-team, double-elimination regional will continue through Sunday, with the winner advancing to meet the winner of the Fort Worth Regionals in the Super Regional round.
ASU (33-22, 19-11 Pac-12) is one of five Pac-12 teams selected for the 64-team NCAA Tournament field. Conference champion Oregon State (42-12) is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament and will host UNLV, UC Irvine and North Dakota State in a regional this weekend.
Oregon (42-18) is the No. 2 seed in the Nashville Regional, hosted by Vanderbilt; Stanford (30-23) is the No. 3 seed in the Bloomington, Ind., Regional, hosted by Indiana; and Washington (39-15-1) is the No. 2 seed in the Oxford, Miss., Regional hosted by Ole Miss.
