Steve Nash attends LA teen's Bar Mitzvah

LOS ANGELES — Mike Feinberg is probably the luckiest 13-year-old in America.

Not only is he the son of one of the richest men in the country — dad Jeffrey is a hedge fund manager who tried to buy the Brooklyn (New Jersey) Nets in 2009 — but he became a man in the Jewish faith after having his Bar Mitzvah in Los Angeles last weekend.

And if the day wasn’t big enough for the young man, on hand to celebrate the monumental moment with the teenager was Lakers guard and two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash.

Yes, powerful dad equals lucky kid.

The elder Feinberg is a renowned basketball junkie and counts Nash among his many NBA friends. And Stacey Feinberg — Jeff’s wife and Mike’s mom — also has huge hoop connections. She’s the daughter of the late, great sports agent Bob Woolf, who represented Larry Bird among many others.

Success just seems to run through the veins of the Feinberg/Woolf union.

It turns out that Jeffrey Feinberg began his financial career with the legendary George Soros — himself worth about $19 billion and the wealthiest individual hedge fund manager in the world, according to Forbes.

Obviously Mr. Feinberg learned his lessons well, and they helped make an already special moment for his son — and attending guests — that much more memorable.

With the non-Jewish Nash getting a huge assist, of course.
