NEW YORK (AP) Stellar Path won her U.S. debut Friday, edging Cushion by a half length to give trainer Christophe Clement a 1-2 finish in the $95,000 Plenty of Grace Stakes on the turf at Aqueduct.

The 4-year-old gray French-bred filly compiled a record of 5 for 13 through last season in Europe. The even-money favorite found an easy spot in her first start for Clement, facing only three rivals over the course rated good.

Luis Saez was aboard for the one mile in 1:38.67.

''I asked her to wait until the stretch and she responded beautifully,'' Saez said.
