Staubach: I wouldn't want Greg Hardy on my team

The Cowboys are taking a chance on Greg Hardy, but Hall of Fame quarterback Roger Staubach wouldn't want him on his team.Ā
Hardy is one of several NFL players with a history of domestic violence.
While owner Jerry Jones and the Cowboys front office felt comfortable picking up the Pro Bowl defensive end this offseason, Staubach was one of many who disapprove of the move. Ā
"I don't have any tolerance toward domestic violence," he said on KTCK-AM 1310. "If I was making the decision, it probably wouldn't have been good for the Cowboys."
Although the assault charges following the incident involving Hardy's ex-girlfriend last year were dropped, the NFL found enough evidence to suspend him the first 10 games of the 2015 regular season without pay.Ā
That still doesn't satisfy Staubach.Ā
"I wouldn't really enjoy being in the locker room with someone I knew was a domestic violence person," he said. "I would have really had a hard time with a teammate that you look at as a courageous, tough guy on the football field ... to abuse a women in any shape or form, there's just no excuse for it."
