Star-studded weekend for Michigan recruiting

Michigan's football program completed one of the most amazing recruiting weekends considering signing day is more than 11 months away.

The Wolverines added two more verbal commitments Sunday, giving them eight in two days and 11 overall for the class of 2013.

"I've never seen it happen in the area I cover," said Allen Trieu, a Midwest recruiting analyst for Scout.com, speaking of the Wolverines' surge of early commitments in just more than 24 hours. "I hear about it happening with Texas sometimes. Florida did something similar over the weekend, too.

"Recruiting is a momentum game. One kid commits, the other kids see that spots are filling up, and it just leads to more."

The latest commitments came from offensive tackle Logan Tuley-Tillman (Peoria, Ill.) and defensive end Jake Butt (Pickerington, Ohio).

All eight to commit over the weekend are potential four-star recruits. Of the 11, four are offensive linemen and three are defensive linemen, as coach Brady Hoke's staff tries to rebuild depth in the trenches.

Michigan State, meanwhile, has a total of two commitments for 2013, including four-star linebacker Jon Reschke of Birmingham (Mich.) Brother Rice.
