Standhardinger leads Nebraska to 83-40 victory

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Reserve Christian Standhardinger had 20 points and a career-high 11 rebounds and three other Nebraska players scored in double figures in the Cornhuskers' 83-40 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday night.

Nebraska (2-0) had a double-digit lead less than six minutes into the game. After Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-2) cut the lead to seven, the Huskers went on a 21-8 run spanning the end of the first half and the start of the second to go up 36-17.

Newcomer Caleb Walker had 13 points and seven rebounds, Lance Jeter had 11 points and Toney McCray added 10 points for Nebraska.

Savalance Townsend led the Golden Lions with 10 points and Daniel Broughton had nine.

The Huskers committed 12 turnovers in the first half but just two the rest of the way.

Nebraska leaves Tuesday for the Puerto Rico Tip Off, where it will play three games in four days.
