GALLE, Sri Lanka (AP) Sri Lanka stretched its lead in the second test against Australia to 318 after Rangana Herath took a hat-trick to bowl the visitors out for 106 in its first innings on Friday.
Sri Lanka was 143-6 in its second innings at tea, building on the 175-run lead it took after the first innings.
Angelo Mathews was top scorer with 47, while Kusal Perera made 35.

Mitchell Starc returned 3-33.
Earlier, Herath became only the second Sri Lankan to get a hat-trick in test cricket as Australia was held to its lowest-ever test innings against Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka made 281 in its first innings.
