Spieth: Special to see LeBron James play, but I'm more of a Dirk fan
When the biggest star in the NBA comes to town, it brings out the biggest stars in your city to see the game.
And right now in Dallas, there might not be a bigger star than the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world, Jordan Spieth.
So when the Cleveland Cavaliers visited Dallas on Tuesday night, Spieth was front and center to see his Dallas Mavericks take on LeBron James and Co.
The Masters champion picked a great game to watch, although his hometown team fell 110-107 in overtime.
"To see multiple Hall of Famers on the same court is pretty special," Spieth said as a guest of the Mavericks postgame show on FOX Sports Southwest. "Unfortunately, we didn't pull it off ... but you know what, it's still a long season, we'll be alright."
Spieth talked about coming to Mavericks games with his dad growing up and about being a fan of the team for a long time. But while coming out to see James play might have been the biggest factor in him enjoying Tuesday's game in person, Spieth didn't mince words when it came down to who is favorite player is.
"To see LeBron play as well is pretty special," Spieth said. "You know, I'm more of a Dirk (Nowitzki) fan than anybody else in the world, of course."
