South Africa wins toss, bowls in tour match vs. Victoria

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) South Africa captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl Saturday in a day-night, pink ball tour match against Victoria at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The match is designed to prepare South Africa for the third cricket test against Australia which will also be played under lights and with a pink ball at the Adelaide Oval, starting Thursday. South Africa already holds a winning 2-0 lead in the three-test series.


Victoria: Aaron Finch (captain), Rob Quiney, Ian Holland, Seb Gotch, Matthew Short, Sam Harper, Evan Gulbis, Jake Reed, Sam Grimwade, Jackson Coleman, John Hastings.

South Africa: Faf du Plessis (captain), Kyle Abbott, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Stephen Cook, Jean-Paul Duminy, Dean Elgar, Quinton de Kock, Keshav Maharaj, Vernon Philander, Kagiso Rabada.
