CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Los Angeles Angels
have put second baseman Howie Kendrick on the 15-day disabled list with a
hyperextended left knee.
The Angels made the move Saturday before playing Cleveland.
Kendrick was injured while chasing a
popup Monday against Texas. He landed awkwardly as he tried to avoid a
collision with right fielder Collin Cowgill.
Kendrick needed help getting off the
field and hasn't been able to run or begin baseball activities. He is
traveling with the team and said the knee feels better while walking but
he isn't ready to play. He is hitting .301 with 11 homers and 47 RBIs,
