Sooners move up in rankings

Oklahoma moved up three spots to No. 12 in the most-recent college football playoff rankings announced Tuesday night.

The Sooners are 8-1 and take on unbeaten Baylor Saturday in Waco, Texas. Baylor is ranked No. 6.

Baylor and Oklahoma State at No. 8 are the only Big 12 teams ranked in front of the Sooners. OSU is also unbeaten. OU has the best chance of any Big 12 team to advance to the playoff with a single loss.

A Baylor or OSU loss at this point, would likely eliminate their playoff chances. An unbeaten Big 12 team would likely make the playoff, but even that isn't guaranteed.

OU is at Baylor this week, then plays home to TCU before finishing the regular season with a game at Oklahoma State.
