The last time, and it was just a season ago, when Clemson and Oklahoma played, it was the lowest of low points for the Sooner football team.
Oklahoma went from a playoff contender at the start of the 2014 season to a 40-6 loser to Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
"I don't think that's something you can forget about," OU center Ty Darlington told The Oklahoman. "That's something that's probably ingrained in my memory forever.
"Obviously it was very embarrassing and all that. They whipped us up and down the field for 60 minutes. We haven't forgotten about it."
Things are going to be different this time. Well, who knows about the result, but the stakes are a lot different.
The Tigers and the Sooners play Dec. 31 in a national semifinal.
OU finished up 8-5 last season. The Sooners are 11-1 this time around. Trevor Knight was the quarterback last season, throwing three interceptions against Clemson. Now, OU has a Heisman contender at quarterback â Baker Mayfield.
And oddly enough, OU has avenged four of its five losses from last season, beating TCU, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Baylor. Next up: Clemson.
