They don't make horses much sweeter than Songbird.

The beyond-brilliant 3-year-old daughter of Medaglia d'Oro won her 10th straight start, blitzing a fine field in the Alabama at Saratoga on Saturday.

Songbird, ridden by Mike Smith, sat comfortably alongside pacesetter Go Maggie Go throughout the opening six furlongs of the 1 1/4-mile race.

Smith barely had to ask and Songbird, who won the Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga in her previous start, drew away from Go Maggie Go.

She quickly opened lengths on her foes and closed out the race in 2:03 to win as the 1-5 favorite.

To give you an example of how dominating Songbird has been in her career, a $2 parlay would only currently return a total of $43 for the 10 races.

As Caleb Keller of TVG noted, a $2 parlay during American Pharoah's eight-race winning streak would have returned far north of $200.

Songbird returned $2.40 for a $2 bet.

The name of Songbird's mom, fittingly, is Ivanavinalot. Her daughter has done just that.

Songbird's owner, Rick Porter is in the hospital. The filly's trainer, Jerry Hollendorfer said Porter is in good hands.

"He has a little problem," Hollendorfer said after the race. "He has the best doctors. I'm sure they'll get it fixed."

Hollendorfer, who has sent out more than 7,000 winners as a trainer in his career. was asked where Sonbird ranked among his horses:
