GOLD COAST, Australia (AP) A snake slithered into a rugby arena on Monday, grabbing the attention of fans and TV cameras.
Broadcasters showed images of a brown snake - about 1-meter (3-feet) long - in a grassy area between the field and the stands at Robina Stadium in the first half before it reportedly disappeared down a drain.
The National Rugby League game between the Gold Coast Titans and North Queensland was not interrupted. Gold Coast won 13-12.
Gold Coast Titans forward Greg Bird says the game was so frantic he didn't know anything about the snake.

He says ''I wish it bit me, it would have given me an excuse to lay down and have a rest.''
