Six Blue Raider athletes to compete in track & field championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - On the final day of the NCAA Eastern Regional for Track and Field, Middle Tennessee had five athletes qualify for the NCAA Championships, bringing the total for the Blue Raiders to six in five events

Cordairo Golden started the day for MT by taking fourth in the men's triple jump.  While not his personal best jump, Golden leaped 15.59 meters, just under a half-meter shorter than the first place competitor.  Golden's fourth place finish allows him to qualify for the nationals in June.

In the men's 4x400 meter relay, Emmannuel Tugumisirize, Noah Akwu, Eliud Rutto and Demetrius Shelton ran a time of 3:07.20 to finish tenth, earning a spot in the Championships.

In total, the six athletes that MT will send to the NCAA Championships, June 5-8, in Eugene, Ore., are:
