TEMPE (AP) -- Dymond Simon scored 13 points, including a late free throw, and Kali Bennett blocked a 3-point shot with seven seconds left to help Arizona State get past Washington 52-49 Saturday in Pac-10 play.

Arizona State (12-5, 4-3 Pac-10) outscored Washington 5-3 over the final 4:25, giving the Sun Devils just their second win in the last five games.

Washington (7-10, 2-6) got the ball with 23 seconds left but failed to get the ball inbounds, losing for the fourth time in the last five games and the seventh in the last nine. Three of the last four Husky losses are by four points or less.

Simon added three assists and five assists for Arizona State, including a free throw with 18 seconds left that put the Sun Devils up by three. Kristi Kingma, the league's fifth-leading scorer, tried to get off a 3-pointer in the final seconds but it was blocked by the 6-foot-5 Bennett, who transferred from Washington after her freshman year.

Kingma finished by 14 points -- all the second half -- on 6-of-19 shooting. Sarah Morton and Regina Rogers each added 10 points for Washington, which committed 18 turnovers that were converted into 26 Sun Devil points.

Arizona State made just 33 percent of its shots against the Husky zone defense which kept Washington in the game after trailing by as much as nine in the first half.

Washington went on a 11-0 run, sparked by Kingma's seven points, to take a 44-40 lead with 7:41 left. But Simon scored six straight points, the final two after stealing the ball from Morton and making the ensuing layup to put Arizona State ahead 46-44 with 4:50 left.

Arizona State jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the first six minutes as the Sun Devils took advantage of five early Husky turnovers. But Arizona State shot just 34 percent from the field (10-of-29) in the half and Washington tied it at 21 in the final three minutes after a 13-4 run. However, Simon hit a 3-pointer and Deja Mann converted a 3-point play in the last 42 seconds to give Arizona State a 27-21 lead at the break.
