Sights & Sounds of Daytona: Waiting on Mother Nature once again

4:15 p.m. ET -- For the second week in a row, rain has dampened the track before the Sprint Cup Series race. This time fans, drivers and teams are making the most of it at Daytona International Speedway.

Many teams are watching the skies and the radar.

Meanwhile, some drivers are out and about doing fan meet and greets, as well as sponsor appearances. 

4:50 p.m. ET -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is not pleased with all the rain this weekend at Daytona. 

Despite the weather, drivers continue to make appearances in the fan zones. 

5:15 p.m. ET -- The competitors have filed in for the weekly driver/crew chief meeting. 

Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn't too pleased with the repetitiveness of that either. 

5:40 p.m. ET -- During the driver/crew chief meeting, NASCAR president Mike Helton announced Saturday night's race at Daytona will be the final race for legendary radio announcer Barney Hall. 

6:55 p.m. ET -- The last time Dale Jr. was at Daytona, it took a Daytona 500 win to get him to join Twitter. This weekend he's been on fire, tweeting away like a pro. 

7:25 p.m. ET -- Driver introductions, although a bit soggy, went on as planned. BK Racing teammates Ryan Truex and Alex Bowman had a little fun with the rain, treating the driver introduction stage as a slip 'n slide.
