There isn't a sports viewer around who isn't familiar with those bizarre DirecTV commercials starring Rob Lowe.

There's "Creepy Rob Lowe:"

"Less Attractive Rob Lowe:"

"Crazy Hairy Rob Lowe:"

And "Painfully Awkward Rob Lowe:"

In "Painfully Awkward Rob Lowe," the actor plays, well, an awkward guy who confesses he can't relieve himself in a public bathroom while others are around.

But a group has found the ad "in poor taste" and insensitive to those who suffer from shy bladder syndrome.

So much so that the International Paruresis Association has asked DirecTV to stop running the ad.

"We don't mind if people have a little fun with it," International Pauresis Association CEO Steve Soifer told the Associated Press. "It's a situation that a lot of people don't understand. In this particular case, the portrayal is making it look ridiculous, that this guy is a loser for having a problem.

"What if he didn't have a leg or an arm?" Soifer said. "Are you going to make fun of them?"

A spokesman for the satellite cable company has denied the request: "The ads will continue to run for the vast majority of viewers who have told us they enjoy the spots and understand that, like all of our commercials, they take place in a fantasy world and are not based in reality."
