Shane Larkin has no reaction to reports of him declaring for the draft
University of Miami sophomore point guard Shane Larkin had no official reaction Friday to reports he would declare for the NBA Draft, a school spokesperson said.
The school official said Hurricanes coach Jim Larranaga also had no comment, and Larkin still planned to announce his decision to stay in college or go pro at a news conference scheduled for 6 p.m. ET Sunday.
ESPN.com reported Larkin’s father, Barry, said his son indicated intentions to turn pro.
The Miami Herald quoted Barry Larkin as saying, “It's not 100 percent, but all indications are Shane will turn pro.”
Larkin averaged 14.5 points and 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals in helping lead Miami to the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season and tournament championships.
Underclassmen wishing to declare for the NBA Draft have until Sunday to do so. If a player officially declares, he cannot return to school.
