JUPITER, Fla. - The Cardinals made seven cuts following Thursday's win over the Boston Red Sox.

Three pitchers – Tyrell Jenkins, John Gast and Nick Greenwood – were reassigned to minor league camp along with infielder Kolten Wong and catchers Cody Stanley and Luis De La Cruz.

Right-handed pitcher Adam Reifer, the lone 40-man representative, was officially optioned to Triple-A Memphis.

"There's not many on that list that I'll tell you didn't impress us because I just liked how they went about their business," said manager Mike Matheny. "We didn't have any of that garbage or nonsense or anybody acting stupid. They were all respectful and got their work done and realized that they had an opportunity to improve and they all soaked it in."

Jenkins, the No. 50 overall pick in the 2010 draft, impressed with a scoreless inning Wednesday against the Nationals in Viera.

Wong was the Cardinals first-round pick last year (No. 22 overall) out of Hawaii. The middle-infielder had a sacrifice fly in Thursday's 9-3 win.
