Second-half run spurs 'Canes over Oral Roberts

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Malcolm Grant scored 15 points to lead Miami to a 69-56 victory over Oral Roberts on Tuesday at the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic.

The Hurricanes (8-3) also had Reggie Johnson with 14 points and 12 rebounds, Durand Scott with 14 points and Garrius Adams with 10.

Miami started the second half with an 11-2 run that erased a 33-28 halftime deficit and provided a 39-35 lead with 15:44 left. After two free throws by Grant gave Miami a 37-35 advantage, the Golden Eagles (4-7) never reclaimed the lead.

Dominique Morrison led the Golden Eagles with 20 points, while Damen Bell-Holter had 16 points and nine rebounds.

Miami held a shooting advantage of 52.4 percent (22 of 42) to Oral Roberts' 35.5 percent (18 of 51.) The Hurricanes also outrebounded the Golden Eagles 34-30.
