Second half costs Hornets in loss to Hawks

ATLANTA (AP) -- Devin Harris scored 14 points, including nine in Atlanta's 21-1 run to open the second half, and the Hawks beat the New Orleans Hornets 97-68 in a preseason game on Thursday night.

Harris joined Jeff Teague and DeShawn Stevenson in Atlanta's three-guard lineup.

Josh Smith led the Hawks with 16 points. Al Horford had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Anthony Morrow had 15 points.

Anthony Davis, the No. 1 overall draft pick, led the Hornets with 19 points, including 15 in the first half. Another rookie, Austin Rivers, had 11 points.

Following a 40-40 halftime tie, the Hornets missed their first 13 shots from the field in the third quarter. The Hawks outscored the Hornets 26-7 in the quarter.

Teague left the game with a left ankle injury in the third period. Hawks rookie John Jenkins was held out with a bruised left hand.
