Scotland fullback Hogg named Six Nations' best player
LONDON (AP) Scotland fullback Stuart Hogg was named the player of the Six Nations on Thursday.
Hogg received the award thanks to a panel of former rugby internationals, and an online poll in which he took more than 30 percent of the public vote.
Billy Vunipola, the No. 8 in the England Grand Slam side, was second after polling 27 percent, and Wales winger George North, who scored a try in four consecutive matches, was third on 11 percent.
Hogg scored two tries, and was third across the tournament in meters ran.
Vunipola was awarded man of the match three times, and led all players in carries with 93, six more than second-place Ireland flanker CJ Stander.
North led the tournament statistics in tries, meters ran, clean breaks, and defenders beaten.
