Santa Clara closes out San Diego 61-52

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -- Marc Trasolini scored 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds and Santa Clara used a 20-12 run over the final 8 minutes to defeat San Diego 61-52 on Thursday night.

Santa Clara (18-8, 6-5 West Coast) shot only 35.1 percent from the field and was a dismal 4 of 19 from beyond the arc but the Toreros weren't much better, shooting only 33.3 percent from the floor and going 6 for 21 from 3-point range.

Brandon Clark had 11 points and was 5 of 6 from the free-throw line for the Broncos. Yannick Atanga scored only two points but had 11 rebounds.

Ken Rancifer led San Diego (13-14, 6-6) with 17 points and Johnny Dee had 15 points and eight rebounds. John Sinis chipped in with 13 for the Toreros, which were 12 of 16 from the free-throw line.

Santa Clara has won six of its last eight ball games.
