Sandy Cohen decommits from Marquette after Buzz Williams' departure

The first domino of Buzz Williams' departure to Virginia Tech fell Saturday night for Marquette, as four-star 2014 commit Sandy Cohen tweeted he's been released from his letter of intent and free to sign with any other school.

Cohen, who committed to Marquette in July, signed with the Golden Eagles in November. The Seymour (Wis.) High School product had to be released by Marquette and will not have to sit out a year.

"I have been released of my NLI my window for recruitment is wide open," Cohen tweeted Saturday night.

That leaves the Golden Eagles with Ahmed Hill, Marial Shayok and Satchel Pierce as the incoming freshman class. Malek Harris committed to Marquette, but did not sign in the fall.

Ranked as the 18th shooting guard in the class of 2014 by, Cohen led Seymour High School to a 23-2 record, averaging 21.3 points per game.
