Saturday morning, more than five thousand Saints fans wrapped around the team's practice facility, eagerly waiting in line to pack the practice field stands for the Black and Gold's scrimmage.

Saturday evening, it was Sean Payton's turn to do the cheering in Canton, Ohio. He flew there directly from the Saints scrimmage in order to support his mentor, Bill Parcells, as he was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

"When someone that is close to you, or someone that has been a part of your career, is going into the Hall of Fame, it is pretty special. It becomes a little bit more meaningful," Payton said. "Obviously, Bill was someone that really helped me a lot in my career. To this date, I talk with him pretty frequently. I am excited for him and just (excited) to be there to help celebrate with him."

Payton coached for three seasons under Parcells in Dallas from 2003 to 2005.
