Saint Louis escapes Texas-Pan American, 75-69
ST. LOUIS -- Mike Crawford scored 19 points -- including 8 of 10 from the line -- and Saint Louis made a late run to beat Texas-Pan American 75-69 on Wednesday.
Crawford made three 3-pointers, including one with 1:13 left to spark an 11-6 run from the Billikens to finish the game. The Broncs (5-5) trailed by one with 4:41 after Janari Joesaar's three free-throws made it 64-63, but Crawford made a pair of free throws and then nailed the late 3-pointer and Saint Louis held on.
Saint Louis (7-4) raced out to a 19-6 lead through the first eight minutes of the first half, but UTPA drew within one with 4:35 to go. An 11-2 run to close the half by the Billikens -- punctuated by Crawford's 3-pointer with 3 seconds left -- made it 36-26 at the break.
Joesaar paced UTPA with 26 points, including four 3-pointers.
