Royals rained out in Minnesota, will face Twins in Sunday doubleheader

Published May. 20, 2017 2:42 p.m. ET

Rain has been in the forecast all weekend in Minneapolis, and the weather took its toll early Saturday, wiping out the second game of the Kansas City Royals' series with the Minnesota Twins. The game is now scheduled to be made up Sunday as part of a traditional doubleheader.

The first game of Sunday's doubleheader will begin at 1:10 p.m., with the second beginning 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1. Both games will air on FOX Sports Kansas City.

Royals starter Ian Kennedy was scheduled to be activated from the 10-day disabled list in advance of Saturday's game, but he'll now be activated to start one of Sunday's games instead.
