ARLINGTON – Dallas Cowboys rookie tight end Gavin Escobar was running a seam route on Tony Romo's interception in the final minutes on Sunday.

While Romo said he didn't put the ball where it needed to be, Escobar also took blame for the turnover.

"Probably should've flattened it off more, be more friendly to the (quarterback)," Escobar said. "When I saw it coming out, I was trying to break it up. … I was trying to get over to the other side. I should've flattened it off more."

The throw came on second-and-16 from the Cowboys 14 with two minutes remaining and the score tied 48-48. Denver outside linebacker Danny Trevathan made the interception at the Cowboys 24.

Romo said he wanted to put the ball another two feet in front of Escobar.

"I just didn't get much on it," Romo said. "It's frustrating."
